Job Title: Microsoft Office 365 Developer
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Sr. Director of IT
Job Function: The Microsoft Office 365 Developer will be responsible for building, customizing, and supporting solutions that improve collaboration, document management, and workflow automation across the organization. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a service-oriented mindset to deliver sustainable solutions for internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Development & Integration
- Design, develop, and maintain custom applications, workflows, and web parts within SharePoint Online.
- Build and support PowerApps, Power Automate flows, and SPFx (SharePoint Framework) solutions tailored to internal business needs.
- Integrate SharePoint with other Office 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Exchange Online).
Customization & Governance
- Customize SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and permissions to align with organizational policies.
- Ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with IT administrators to manage SharePoint Online environments and enforce best practices.
Support & Maintenance
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SharePoint and Office 365 applications.
- Monitor system performance, resolve issues, and implement enhancements.
- Train and support end-users to maximize adoption and effective use of Office 365 tools.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Partner with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and integration processes for long-term maintainability.
- Act as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 – 8 years of SharePoint experience
- Strong proficiency in SharePoint Online development and customization.
- Experience with Office 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Exchange Online).
- Hands-on expertise with:
- SPFx (SharePoint Framework)
- PowerApps & Power Automate
- JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3
- REST APIs, Graph API
- Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Office 365 security models.
- Familiarity with SQL Server and data integration concepts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate, SharePoint Developer).
- Experience with enterprise-scale SharePoint migrations.
Other
- Must be willing and able to comply with MTM’s D&A policy.
- Experience in the transportation industry is a plus.
- Regular and consistent attendance is necessary.
- Must always comply with safety protocols and is expected to monitor compliance by employees for information sharing with HR management as needed.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with general company standards.
